How this works.

Two things. We translate documents and text you already have, and we write copy that does not exist yet. That is the whole service.

If you are holding a document, that is Official translation — photograph it. If you already have the text in a file, that is Business translation — paste it. If the words do not exist yet and somebody needs to write them, that is Copywriting — tell us the brief.

We do not tell you which documents to get, where to take them, or what to do next. We are not an agent and we are not advisers. We translate what you send us and we write what you brief us on. What happens with it afterwards is between you and whoever asked you for it.

Japanese and English can be ordered straight away, in both directions. Other languages are taken, but a person prices them rather than the counter, because they need a reviewer we pay separately.

Photograph the document, or upload an image of it (JPG or PNG). We tell you what it is and what it costs before you make an account or type anything. If you only wanted the price, the image is not kept.

Right now, ¥1,500 covers the first 2 pages of any document we have a standard form for, and each page after that is ¥1,000. That is an opening rate for our first 30 completed orders. After that it is ¥1,500 for the first page and ¥1,000 for each page after it. A document we have no standard form for is ¥2,500 per page.

A longer document is still quoted at the counter — the pages after the first 2 are ¥1,000 each. A document we have no standard form for is the different one: while the opening rate runs, the counter does not quote it. A person looks at it and comes back with a figure. We would rather say "a person will price this" than invent a number that turns out to be wrong once we have seen the pages.

While the opening rate runs, same-day delivery is ¥1,000. Extra printed copies are ¥500 each, plus postage, which is quoted before you pay.

Our standard turnaround is 2 business days for the PDF, and 3 more business days if you want it posted. Same-day is available as an add-on while the opening rate runs. A document we have no standard form for has no fixed turnaround, because a person has to read it first.

Resident records, family registers in full and partial form, birth, marriage and divorce acceptance certificates, employment and tax documents, school and qualification documents, and payslips. We also translate foreign birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, death certificates, certificates of no impediment, police clearance certificates and household registers into Japanese. Housing and rental documents, property contracts and anything else are welcome — they just get priced by a person.

Yes, and this is the part we would most like you to use. Before payment we show you every value we read off your document — names, dates, numbers, addresses — in a list. If a spelling is wrong you correct it there. Nothing is produced until you have said the list is right.

Yes. We keep the spelling you confirmed and reuse it on everything you send us afterwards, so two documents ordered months apart do not come back with two versions of your name.

The translated page carries the date, the name of the person who translated it, their business address and their seal — which is what a translated document in Japan normally carries, and what most people are asked for.

A separate signed page, ¥500, and most people do not need it. The translation itself already says who translated it and when. The certificate is that person stating that they are competent to translate between those two languages and that the translation is complete and accurate, with the number of pages in the original and their signature. Some receiving bodies ask for it specifically. If you have not been asked for one, you probably do not need one — and if you are not sure, ask whoever is receiving the document rather than us, because they are the only ones who know.

By character, and you see the figure on screen before you talk to anybody. Paste up to 50,000 characters at a time, in Japanese or English. The smallest order is ¥800.

No. We find the repeated passages and count them once. The screen shows you the total characters, how many of them are repeats, and the number you are actually charged on — so you can see the difference rather than take our word for it.

No. There is no call, no form and no account before you see the price.

Websites and app text, marketing and product copy, catalogues and listings, manuals and instructions, company documents, internal policies and HR text, correspondence and proposals. Contracts and agreements too — we translate a contract you already have. We do not draft one.

You choose, on the same screen as the price. Translation says what the original says. Adapted keeps the meaning and makes it read naturally in the other language. Transcreation rewrites it so it lands the same way on a different reader — for anything meant to persuade rather than inform.

Yes. Tell us how a name or a term should be written and we hold it — across this job and every job after it.

Not unless you order. Pasting text to see a price leaves nothing behind.

There is no original. A menu translated word for word reads like a parts list, so instead of translating we ask what the dish is and who is ordering it, and write it. There is no source document and no certificate of accuracy, because there is nothing to be accurate to.

Menus, Google Business Profiles, signs and notices, stay listings, product listings, English website copy, Japanese website copy, company profiles, press releases, job postings, Taglish campaign and social copy, monthly social, newsletters, taglines, naming, brand voice guides, and audits of copy you already have.

Five things, and you get told which rule rather than a vague no. Documents for submission to a public office — that is 行政書士 work. Contracts — we translate an existing one, we do not draft. Advice on what a document means — that is a lawyer’s work. Financial statements. And your CV, because it is a statement about you that has to come from you. We will translate a CV you have written.

Prices for this counter are not published yet — every one of them is not set yet. Tell us what you need and a person will come back with a figure.

Who is going to read it, and what you want them to do after reading it. That is the whole brief. If you have existing copy in either language, send that too.

After you have seen the price and, for a document, after you have checked the values we read off it. Never before.

No. What the quote says is what you pay. If something about your document means the quoted figure no longer holds, we stop and tell you rather than adding a line.

Yes. Bank transfer works inside Japan, and there are international options for everywhere else. The price is the same wherever you are.

For business text, ¥800. Documents are priced per document, so there is no separate minimum.

It is used to produce your translation and nothing else. If you only asked for a price and did not order, the image is not kept at all.

Source files and finished translations are deleted on a schedule, which is set out in full on our privacy page. What you send us is kept for 14 days, and what we send back for 30 days — after that the download link stops working, which is the same thing said two ways.

Yes. Ask and we delete what we hold, including the stored spelling of your name. Some records of the transaction itself have to be kept for tax purposes; the privacy page says which.

The person who translates it and the person who reviews it. Certified work always has a human approval step — software cannot sign off a certified translation, and the build refuses to record itself as the translator.

Every order gets a link. Open it any time to see which stage it is at. The link is designed to be safe to forward — it shows the stage and the reference number, never the document or anything read off it.

Tell us and we will send a fresh one.

By email as a PDF. Printed copies can be posted if you asked for them.

Tell us and we correct it. If it is still wrong after 2 attempts, you are owed the money back and we do not argue about it. The full terms are on the refunds page.

Send us what they told you and we will look at the translation. If the translation is wrong, that is ours to fix. If they want something we were never given, we will say so plainly rather than guess at what they want — they are the only ones who can tell you that.
